People laughing

Do you feel a little gloomy today? Does it feel as if the world has suddenly fallen down on you, or do you simply not feel well? Perhaps there is not enough entertainment and fun in your life. Think about how you can brighten up your day, and improve your health at the same time! Research has shown that people who laugh a few times each day are less likely to have health problems in the future compared to the people who don’t laugh at all.

How does laughing improve your health? Well, it’s simple. When you feel gloomy, do you ever start to feel depressed or even have suicidal thoughts? When you’ve lost something, does your heart start to ache, making you ridiculously miserable? In the long run, having these kinds of feelings can cause high blood pressure which increases your chances of suffering from various heart conditions. By just laughing a few times a day, you could help prevent these conditions.

Surprisingly, laughing can also help you lose weight. When you laugh, you are using your abdominal muscles. This makes it similar to doing sit-ups, except you are doing it in a different form. Laugh more every day (along with your regular exercise), and you can lose those unwanted pounds at a faster rate.

Don’t have anyone to laugh with?
Try to find a joke book, or simply amuse yourself with an easy image in your head. Think of a dog chasing a cat, but in the end, the dog finds out that the cat was simply another small dog. Yeah, that’s lame, but you get the idea.

The more you smile, the healthier you will become. That is a fact. Do you notice that the unhappy people around you tend to have poorer health? You certainly do not want to be in that situation, right? An easy way to avoid this is to laugh. Not only does it improve your health condition, it can help you be in a better mood everyday and forget your worries for a bit. Remember, smiles are contagious, so if you smile at someone, you are almost always bound to get a smile in return!
