Acne has nothing to do with your diet, although a healthy and well balanced diet can assist to the goal of healthier skin. There is no proof that having a bad diet will cause you to have more frequent breakouts than what you usually would have. Maybe you’re feeling a little hopeless, having tried and experimented with all of the acne medications known to mankind. Or maybe you just have an occasional few pimples here or there that you would just like to get rid of. Either way the information discussed in this article should help you with your skin problems and give you new information you may not have previously known about.
Below is a list of things you can do that are easy and practical ways to promote beautiful skin:

-What you should be doing:

• Drinking your fluids: This will rid your body of harmful chemicals and wastes, especially water.

• Change your pillowcase after every time you shower: All of those shampoos and conditioners in your hair have moisturizers and softeners that can clog your pores and irritate your skin. Even if you think you keep your hair clean, these will build up over time.

• Put your hair in a ponytail: This only applies if you have hair that is long enough to do so. Did you ever notice having an excess amount of pimples around your hairline? Well keeping your hair loose during the night could be the reason for this. This fact goes hand in hand with the one above.

• Clean your skin with care: When you wash your face, lather your face wash on gently and with care. This means no SCRUB, SCRUB, SCRUBBING!

• Use the correct makeup: When you’re looking for makeup, make sure that it says that it is oil-free, non-comedogenic, and non-pore clogging. This way, it should not clog your pores and cause you more breakouts. If you have sensitive skin, look for hypoallergenic makeup, it should be better for your skin as well.

• Use Lotion: Lotion is needed to keep your skin hydrated. Having skin that is too dry is unhealthy. Make sure that it isn’t a lotion for your hands or body lotion. Look out for labels that say ‘noncomdogenic’ , non-pore clogging, or nonacnegenic. Those are the lotions you are looking for.

• Apply hairspray and gel with caution: Believe it or not, the very thing that makes your hair look presentable every morning might be the very thing that is causing you to have terrible skin. Just try your best to prevent these products (and ones like them) away from your skin as much as possible.

• Wash up after working out: Perspiration can clog your pores and cause you to have breakouts. So, every time you’ve worked out hard and long wash your face! Simple as that.

• Washing when you’re around grease or oil: Though your intake of greasy or oily food has nothing to do with acne, being around it can. If you are near or work around either of these, it’d be best if you wash your face. The oil and grease from these foods can be transferred to your skin by touching and therefore cause breakouts.

Have you been doing well so far? Well here are a list of things you need to make sure you are not doing:

-What you should not be doing:

• Over washing your face: Though it was stated above that you should wash your face regularly, and clean your pores during certain circumstances, over washing can cause acne as well. Washing your face twice daily should be enough to keep your skin beautiful and clear. Over washing can cause more breakouts, as your oil glands are trying to suffice for all of the oils lost during those rigorous cleanings.

• Wearing tight clothing where you have acne: If you wear tight clothing and you have pimples all over your back, chest, etc. , tight clothing can actually irritate and aggravate your already stressed skin.

• Sleeping while wearing makeup: Have you ever been so tired that you haven’t taken off your makeup before plopping into bed. Or perhaps you’re just too lazy to do so. Well, doing this can cause your skin to have more breakouts even if you are using oil free ones. So take the extra time and remove it.

• Touching your face: Maybe you haven’t been noticing yourself doing this, but double check. Your hands are oily and dirty, and whatever’s on your hands you’re putting on your face as well.

• Picking and prodding at those annoying little zits: Maybe you think this helps, or you might think it’s only one and it won’t hurt. Well guess what, it does! Picking at those pimples can push the infection further into your skin and make it worse, or it can cause a big pock mark.

What Treatments should I be receiving?

You can either use an over-the-counter cleanser or one that is prescribed by a dermatologist. Over-the-counter cleansers might very well be the answer for your problem. However, they may not work for you at all. In this case going to your doctor or dermatologist and seeking advice and medications from them would help you out more.

Hopefully, this article will help you be a little less aggravated, a little less hopeless, and help you on your journey to getting that clear skin you’ve always dreamed of.
